My year in review!
This year has been a great year for me. I have met some amazing people and managed to make some connections that I think will last a lifetime. Well let’s get started. So far this year this is everything that happened…
Tallahassee Florida! I travelled So much this year but one of my favorite places is always Florida to work with some dope vendors. This year before I could finish saying Happy New Year I was In Tallahassee shooting two weddings! So amazing!
Sister Circle TV! Every year I always manage to find my way on a TV show. This year I was behind the scenes of Sister Circle TV where I was Shooting for an amazing planner Lily V Events. A New York planner that just got a new office set up here in Atlanta! Talk about an amazing opportunity.
Bahamas! Did I mention I travel? I had an amazing time in the Bahamas! I cant believe I didn’t get a chance to go back this year but next year I will be returning. Can’t wait!
Black Bride Bridal Show I was able to shoot the bridal show again this year and it was amazing. Mary Chatman never disappoints when it comes to style. Here are some of the images from that.
Sweet Social Media Master Class I became A Speaker in a big way. I was at Jasmines Sweets Social Media Masterclass and able to chat with some of her amazing friends and attendees. She is such a great person that can light up any room. I stepped outside of my comfort zone also and wore a color other that black and grey. Lol. Look at me in all that green. Check out this short video to see just what happened.
LaJoi Bride How often do we book clients with the same name. Well my name is LaJoy and my brides name was LaJoi. How cool?!
The whole day I was thinking that I was Being called. It was so cool. I’m not used to hearing my name said so much.Holdfast Brand Ambassador I became A Holdfast Gear Brand Ambassodor! Love the brand, love the quality and the look of the straps are so awesome I get so many compliments. Here is the video I created For that.
The First Look Photography I was tired this year. I mean exhausted. I shot a total of 28 weddings this year and 76 portrait sessions (which meant I edited thousands of photos and answered hundreds of calls and emails to secure those clients). I did the only logical thing I could do. I created another company so that I could add more stress and responsibilities to my plate. No actually I created another company so that I could finally become a business owner and not just self employed.
The First Look Photography was born to help relieve some of the stress of everyday life and allow me to see my family more and have more time for some much needed self care. I was determined that 2020 would not be as stressful. I would not go through the dreaded burn out that most photographers experience.
Knoxville TN I’m always interested in traveling. This wedding was full of colors and this bride and groom was so cool.
The Red Dress I think this image explains it all. My client had a custom red dress designed for her wedding day. She looked GREAT!
Hysis Designs hired The First Look Photography for a Fashion show. Next year we could be in Paris at Fashion week shooting beautiful women and men model amazing fashion! I’m so excited!
Washington DC Adored my visit and adored my couple! Their feature with Munaluchi Magazine was so beautiful and epic. Check it out! Brittany & Quentins Love Story!
California this year meant an amazing wedding in the hills with this couple here. I loved the fact that I was able to shoot in direct sunlight and achieve this look. I have always loved Los Angeles and I think that Atlanta is slowly coming to an end for me.
The Six Figure Hustle
This year my workshop was designed to help a select few attendees reach for the stars. They did a 2day intensive workshop about shooting, poses, money, marketing, Branding and so much more. The main goal was to help these ladies make more than they we’re currently making each year.

My Financial and Personal Goals Did I do It? Did I reach my financial goals this year? Yes of course I did. I reached My goal and then some. You can do it also. Each year I surprise myself with how far I have come and I set more goals for myself to reach.. Money isn’t everything don’t get me wrong however it sure does help keep some of the stress that I could have off of me, It also allows me to help others in ways I never thought I could.. Making six figures just means I am working twice as hard to maintain that each year for myself and my family. This decade was fun and I love everything that came out. I worked hard and I grew as a person and I am proud of the woman I have become. My mother would be proud and my children are proud. I am the second business owner in my family and my mother was the first. I would say I am doing great and loving every minute of it. Next year you can expect Netflix from me. So stay tuned. I don’t show my kids offer but here they are. My babies are getting so big except for Cali. She won’t get bigger. Lol. Happy New Year everyone and thank you for all the love and support!
